Absinthe v2.0 iOS 5.1.1 Untethered Jailbreak Demoed Before Release [VIDEO] -Updated

by jbwire on May 21, 2012

Finally, iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak has got its name “Absinthe V2.0” and is ready to release this week. It has now been confirmed that the exploits used to jailbreak all devices on iOS 5.1.1 will be packaged into the previous Absinthe tool and the updated version of Absinthe will be released.

iOS hacker @xvolks has been working with pod2g and his team to finish the jailbreak. @xvolks has mentioned that he has tested Absinthe v2 on iPhone 4 GSM version and iPhone 3GS. He has also managed to make a quick demo video showing Abisnthe v2.0 jailbeaking iPhone 4. Check the video below.

The video shows a mac version was used in the video, so it is expected that first the mac version of Abinsthe v2 will be released followed by the windows version, as done in first Absinthe version.

The good part is, Absinthe is a very user-friendly tool and easy to use tool. So, even those users who are new to jailbreaking will easily manage to jailbreak their device without fears and much knowledge about the process. It is simple quite one click process and takes not more than 5-10 minutes to jailbreak the device.

I think the jailbreak will be released on 24-25 May as that will be the day when chronic dev team will be presenting their papers in the Hack In The Box conference. In the schedule it is mentioned that the team will be showing the Absinthe exploits. So, there are full chances that they will demo the latest iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak with Absinthe on iPad 3 or any other device.

[UPDATE 1]: Jailbreak will be released any time today,  as updated by @xvolks

We will update as and when the download for Absinthe v2 will be available along with steps to use it, instead of keep checking again and again, follow us on @Jailbreakwire, and Facebook Fanpage for automatic instant updates.
