If you have already unlocked and saved the activation tickets for your iPhone using SAM unlock method, then you can take a deep breath of relief as Apple has started fixing their activation servers to block SAM unlock method. Soon after the servers are fixed no more users will be able to use SAM to unlock their iPhones and get activation tickets on any firmware including iOS 5.1/ 5.0/ 5.0.1.
Musclenerd from iPhone Dev Team has confirmed this via twitter that Apple is patching the activation servers to restrict further unofficial unlocks. Those users who will be trying to unlock their device with in next few hours may or may not be able to gain success. If you still have not unlocked your iPhone 4S, 4 or 3GS on any basebands, then you can try within next few hours.
Looks like Apple’s currently fixing their activation servers. But the good news is that previous tickets gotten via SAM trick still work.

@HardFalling for the next few hours, trying SAM on new SIMs will probably be hit or miss, but eventually it will be all “miss”

The chances of getting success now is quite less but if you are lucky enough, then you may get your device unlocked. Those users who have not still saved their activation tickets must backup activation tickets using redsn0w 0.9.10b8 to remain unlocked after the patch. The method is very simple and will take only few minutes.
If you want to try the SAM unlock, then you can use this shortcut SAM unlock guide which will take not more than 5 minutes. For more updates connect to us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.
