Finally, good news for the Windows users, the Dev team has released the Absinthe A5 untethered jailbreak tool for Windows to jailbreak iPhone 4S and iPad 2 running iOS 5.0.1. Yesterday, the team has already released the Mac version of Absinthe jailbreak tool.
Absinthe is a GUI tool and requires iOS 5.x on iPhone 4S and iOS 5.0.1 on iPad 2 to be jailbroken. You can download the Absinthe Jailbreak tool for windows from the link below.
Future unlockers must not update to iOS 5.0.1 as upcoming ultrasn0w unlock will support only iOS 5.0 with old build 9A334. If you want to unlock your device, wait for the PwnageTool (for Mac) or Sn0wbreeze (for Windows) to be updated which preserves the older basebands.
- iPhone 4S: 5.0 (9A334), 5.0.1 (9A405) and the “other” 5.0.1 (9A406)
- iPad 2: 5.0.1 (9A405) – All three models
In case you are not able to successfully jailbreak with Absinthe, you can jailbreak your iPhone 4S/ iPad 2 with Corona Injector CLI version 0.4.3, which is a command line tool for jailbreaking and debugging while the process runs. Here is the quick guide to jailbreak your A5 device using Cinject tool.
