SaraDictation Cydia Tweak For Voice Dictation on Older Devices [Siri Dictation Alternative]

SaraDictation Cydia tweak is released to bring extension to Sara Cydia App for Siri like features on non-iPhone 4S devices. As the name suggests, SaraDictation 1.0-1 app brings voice dictation to iOS older devices and is an alternative for Siri Dictaton, which comes for Siri.

SaraDictation tweak enables to take notes, write /reply SMS messages, mail messages by just using voice and without typing anything. You can convert speech to text in more than 5 languages such as English, French, German, Chinese and Spanish.

As of now,  SaraDictation is not natively integrated with iOS 5 and it cannot be activated by simplr pressing the mic icon on your keyboard. For SaraDictation to work you need to set an Activator command SaraDictation and then paste the voice-to-text recording where you wish to use it.

You need to have a jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to install the Voice dictation cydia app. You can install SaraDictation by just adding the repo as given below.

How to Install SaraDictation Cydia Tweak on iOS Device

Step 1: You should have a jailbroken device with cydia installed. If your device us not yet jailbroken you can use absinthe for iPad 2 and redsn0w 0.9.10b5 for all other devices and install Cydia.
Step 2: Open Cydia > Manage > Sources
Step 3: Add repo “http://isoftjsc.com”
Step 4:  Now just select and install SaraDictation app on your device.

Alternatively you can install the SataDisctaion Tweak manually with the steps below. You need to have a jailbroken device with iFile and Activator installed on it.

Step 1: Download SaraDictation deb file.
Step 2: SSH into your device and place the downloaded deb file anywhere in your device directory.
Step 3: Go into iFile and search the debfile.
Step 4: Click the debfile and select the Installer option. You must see a ‘0’ to confirm it is installed, else close all the apps in your appswitcher and try again.
Step 5: Respring your idevice.
Step 6: Open Activator and activate Sara Dictation feature using the activation method and you are done.

As it is still in beta stage there are also some Springboard crashes are reported in the tweak. Hopefully, the next version is expected to include more language support with much stability. Those users who still don’t have Siri on their device, can install Sara cydia app for Siri like features on iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G, iPad , iPad 2, iPod touch 3G, 4G.

Alternatively, if your device is not yet jailbroken then you can use Speaktoit tweak from App store, which is another Siri alternative, which is also the best rated Siri alternative for Android devices and is now available for iOS devices also.
