Download iOS 5.1 IPSW For iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Apple will today be releasing the iOS 5.1 download build 9B176 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch as confirmed by the Apple CEO, Tim Cook in the iPad 3 launch event. The updated version is an OTA (over the air) update and includes Siri integration with Japanese and there will be no Gold master iOS 5.1 release.

 It was expected that Apple will be releasing the iOS 5.1 GM (Gold Master) build but this is the first time that Apple has skipped the GM release and has directly released the public release for any firmware.

The download of iOS 5.1 is available for the iPad 2, iPad 1G, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS, as well as the third- and fourth-generation iPod touch. iOS 5.1 is also expected to carry a new camera button on the homescreen and fix for the battery drainage issues.

WARNING: Those users who have already jailboken their devices or plan to jailbreak, DO NOT update to iOS 5.1 as the current versions of Redsn0w and Absinthe jailbreak works only for iOS 5.0.1 and the exploit is expected to be patch in iOS 5.1. Those users who have saved their SHSH Blobs can safely upgrade to iOS 5.1 as they can downgrade to older firmware anytime.
