Facebook is working on to release the new version of Facebook Messenger app for iPad. Earlier last year, the Facebook Messenger app debuted for iPhone. Sources from 9to5mac have got some leaked images of the iPad version of Facebook Messenger app, which is currently in beta stage.
The new version will be larger version than the iPhone app bringing new features like one-to-one messaging, group chatting, push notifications, the ability to see friend locations on a map, and much more. The Facebook Messenger for iPad is also expected to include a simple application for messaging for the users.

Additionally, the sources claims that Facebook pipeline also includes a newer version of iPhone app with Skype video chat support and improved performance. However, there is no much information on the ETA of the iPad version of the app and the updated version for iPhone but it is expected to launch this summer as they are under testing internally.

The report states:
We had a chance to try out the new Facebook Messenger for iPhone video chat feature, and performance was smooth most of the time. Facebook will eventually make the iPad and iPhone apps into a single universal binary, though we’ve yet to see true indication of video chat on the iPad side.

We will keep track when the updates are available for download. You can follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ to keep yourself updated.
