How to Unlock iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, 3GS Using SAM On All BaseBands

by jbwire on April 22, 2012

BOOM for unlockers! A Chinese hacker Loktar Sun has discovered a new exploit in ICCID to unlock iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS using SAM (Subscriber Artificial Module). The method will unlock all basebands including 02.10.04, 04.10.01, 04.12.01, 1.0.13, 1.0.14, 1.0.11 along with most awaited 04.11.08. The SAM way unlocking requires iPhone to be running firmware 5.0 or higher.

The method to unlock iPhone is a bit length but it is quite stable and even verified by unlock hacking experts MuscleNerd and sherif Hashim. Sherif Hashim has even recommended to unlock and save the valid BB activation tickets as soon as possible.

Without going into much details, lets now jump to the instructions to unlock iPhone 4, 4S and iPhone 3GS with SAM method. The method will take some time but if you simply follow it step by step, it will be quite easy to unlock your device. You just need to have an jailbroken iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS running iOS 5.x and must be aware of the carrier your device is currently locked with.

How to SAM Unlock iOS 5.0/ 5.0.1/5.1 iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 3GS on All Basebands:

Step 1: From your jailbroken iPhone, launch Cydia from the SpringBoard.

Step 3: enter the URL “http://repo.bingner.com” to add the bingner repo

Step 4: Now, return to Cydia and select Bingner from the list of sources.

Step 5: Select “SAM” from the list and press Install button from the top right of the screen.

Step 6: Once installation is complete press “reload SpringBoard” button that appears on the screen.

Step 7: Now, insert your new SIM card and click on SAMPrefs icon appearing on your Springboard and click Utilities.

Step 8: On the appearing screen, select “De-Activate iPhone“ option. You will see a pop up confirming the deactivation done.

Step 9: On the SAM screen as in step 7, you will see the “Method” option, click it and select the option “By Country and Carrier” on the next screen.

Step 10: On the next screen, click “Country” and select the country of your ORIGINAL SIM.

Step 11: Click on the “Carrier” (below Country) and select the original carrier of your iPhone or to which it is locked.

Step 12: If your carrier operates on more than one Carrier ID, then select SIM ID.

Step 13: Now, click on the “More Information” and copy IMSI under SAM details to the clipboard.

Step 14: Click on the “Spoof Real SIM to SAM” option

Step 15: Now go to the main SAM screen and paste the copied IMSI number.

Step 16: Now, most of the work is done, just connect your device with Mac and iTunes will activate your iPhone.

Step 17:  You can now cross check if your going in right direction by just double clicking the “Phone Number” parameter at the main device screen and check that the ICCID matches that of your SIM card.” If not you need to start over from Step 6.

Step 18: Unplug your iPhone from the computer and close iTunes.

Step 19: Now, reopen SAMPrefs from your SpringBoard and disable it using the Enabled switch.

Step 20: Reconnect your iPhone with Mac and launch iTunes. You will get an error saying that your phone cannot be activated. This is normal. Just reopen iTunes.

Step 21: You should see signal bars in a short time. Your device is now unlocked successfully.

It may be noted that the Push notifications might stop working after this procedure but can be easily restored by “clear push” utility in SAM followed by connecting to iTunes.

    2, go Utilities -> DEACTIVATE
3, go More Information -> Spoof real sim to sam->COPY IMSI for later use!-> back
4, *IMPORTANT* go method select BY BUNDLE NAME-> back
5, go bundle choice ATT_US (depends on your original carrier)-> back
6, go sim id and just select one->back-> paste that imsi copied earlier on imsi(main pg)-> halfway done
    CLOSE SAM
7, connect PC or MAC open ITUNES then disconnect. :3 (if it say sim not supported :/// go back to step 3. if it display your iphone info, go on.)
8, after disconnect, open SAM turn OFF ENABLED
9, Connect again-> error-> click OK and close ITUNE -> REOPEN ITUNES(it may take a few tries)
