iOS 5.1.1 Untethered Jailbreak to be released at HITB conference On 24-25 May?

by jbwire on May 14, 2012

It seems that the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak release is very close. It is expected that the Chronic Dev Team will be releasing the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak for all devices on next Monday, in the HITB SecConf at Amsterdam. Pod2g (member of Chronic Dev Team) has also stated on his blog that something big related to jailbreaking will happen in the conference.

The conference  is scheduled  from May 21 through May 25 and will be featuring various security aspects. Pod2g will also be presenting a paper in context of multiple exploits to accomplish sandbox breakout, kernel unsigned code injection and execution that result in a fully-featured and untethered jailbreak with respect to Corona jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1.

Pod2g has already tested successfully his iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak on iPhone 4S, iPad 3, iPhone 4. He has also confirmed that the jailbreak will not be supporting the iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 4G. As per his latest update, he is currently testing the exploit on iPad 2.

It’s like something big’s going to happen at HITB related to jailbreaking…

No more to say ;-)

Also Chonic Dev Team has updated:

Soon after the testing, the jailbreak will just be packaged into a full-blown exploit and a user-friendly tool like Absinthe will be created. Hopefully, this all will be done by next Monday and will be demoed in the HITB conference by the Chroinc Dev Team.

We will keep updating all the updates on untethered jailbreak releases, stay tuned with us on  @Jailbreakwire, and Facebook Fanpage.
