iPad 3 On iOS 5.1.1 Untethered Jailbroken Successfully by Pod2g

by jbwire on May 11, 2012

Big day today! After downgrade, iOS 5.1.1 is untethered jailbroken successfully. Pod2g has confirmed that he has successfully jailbroken iPad 3 running iOS 5.1.1 using his existing untethered exploit for iOS 5.1 for all devices.

Yesterday, pod2g had tested successfully jailbreak on iPad 3 running iOS 5.1 and today a demo video was released proving the untethered nature of the jailbreak solution. As the jailbreak is working perfect without any issues on iOS 5.1.1, he seems that now the next step is to package the jailbreak exploit into an easy to use tool like Absinthe or resn0w or Corona.

However, Pod2g today stated that the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak will be released with in few weeks, but this progress update is providing indications that the public release is very near and will not even take few more weeks.

Those who don’t know, the iOS 5.1 / 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak will work on iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad 1G, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G and iPod touch 3G. Fortunately, today itself Musclenerd from iPhone dev team has also released the redn0w 0.9.11b1 version to downgrade iOS 5.1 / 5.1.1 to iOS 5.0.1/ 5.1 firmware for iPhone 4S, iPad 3 and iPad 2.

We will be updating more as soon as the untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1 / 5.1.1, stay connected with us on @Jailbreakwire, and Facebook Fanpage.
