Finally, pod2g has shared the ETA for his untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1.1 / iOS 5.1. He has confirmed via twitter that in just few weeks the final public release of the untethered jailbreak tool for iOS 5.1 will be made. Additionally, he says that there will be no beta release for iOS 5.1 jailbreak and directly public release will be made, probably to avoid any possible leaks and patching of the exploit.
Those who had missed earlier, pod2g have completed his untethered jailbreak and already successfully jailbroken iPad 3 and iPhone 4 on iOS 5.1 and he has also released a untethered iOS 5.1 demo video for his work. The jailbreak will be now tested for iOS 5.1.1.

Once all that done, it will be packaged into a use-friendly easy to use tool like Absinthe or redsn0w to get a final public release.
