Pod2g to Release Untethered Jailbreak 5.1 iPad 3, 2 and iPhone 4S Within Few Weeks

by jbwire on March 30, 2012

The most awaited iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and the new iPad (iPad 3) can be expected to be available with in next few weeks. Hacker @Pod2g has confirmed that one of his team members; cdev has found some pieces of userland jailbreak vulnerable to A5+ devices. But still they need some more missing pieces to complete the jailbreak.

Pod2g also stated that within few weeks, they will be able to connect all the pieces and will then release the packaged userland exploit into an public tool like Absinthe or redsn0w or may be a new tool. Pod2g had been working on iOS 5.1 jailbreak since long and not to forget, he was the one to find the exploit to untether jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 / 5.0, which in turn was packaged into Absinthe, Redsn0w and Corona.

The A5+ users (iPhone 4S, iPad 2) who have accidently already updated to iOS 5.1 must need to wait for an jailbreak to be released as currently there is no way to jailbreak their device. However, if you have an older device running on iOS 5.1 have an option to use redsn0w 0.9.10b6 to jailbreak their device, which is currently tethered.

It is highly recommended to not to update your device further if Apple pushes any update iOS 5.1.1 / iOS 5.2. Hacker @i0n1c already holds an untethered exploit for iOS 5.1 A5+ devices but currently he will not be releasing the jailbreak. But if any jailbreak will release it will support until 5.1, so if you want to avail the jailbreak, avoid any accidental updates.

We will keep you updated on all the releases and details of the jailbreak and unlock, stay tuned with us on FacebookTwitter, and Google+.
